  13.                     GENERAL INTRODUCTION TO SHUTDOWN BUDDY

  17. Shutdown Buddy is a shareware application that allows you to set a time to
  18. shut down (or reset) the Macintosh in the future, and at the appropriate time...yes, 
  19. you guessed it, it shuts down (or resets.)  It is an application that you can leave 
  20. running in the background, and doesn't take very much memory.  Also, you can abort the
  21. shut down (or reset) by going back to the application and hitting the "abort the countdown"
  22. button.

  24. To set the time you simply click on the date field or the time field, and 
  25. little arrows will appear allowing you to adjust the time to shut down.  If
  26. you wish, you can also type into the fields when they are highlighted instead
  27. of using the arrows.  When you have set the appropriate time to shut down (or reset), hit
  28. shutdown (or reset), and then you can hide Shutdown Buddy, or click into the finder to put
  29. it in the background.  You will be given a warning at 1 minute to go in the 
  30. shutdown process.  You can abort at any time by going back to the application and
  31. selecting the abort button.

  33. This program was written because my wife wanted an easy way to have a timed
  34. shut down on her Mac, and so here it is, Shutdown Buddy!

  36. Anyway, it’s shareware, so you have nothing to lose by trying.  If you like
  37. it, you should send me something - $10 or at least a postcard if you’re on a

  50. p.s.  Sorry, but this program is for system 7 and greater.  For all you people
  51.       still using system 6...UPGRADE ALREADY!

  54. OTHER COOL shareware products to try:
  55.  • Memo Buddy 1.0  -> A small database program for storing email addresses and other
  56.                        needed information.  Comes with some cool sounds...check it out,
  57.                        it is located in the info-mac archives in the /app directory!
  58.                        
  59.  • Baby Smash! 5.4 -> A really neat game for children!  Throws up pictures and
  60.                       sounds when the child hits any keys!  A great way to 
  61.                       protect your Mac.

  63.  • MacProxy 1.0 -> Need to have information sent from one port on the Mac to 
  64.                    another port on another computer?  This is for you!
